Also when coming to a stop slowing to a slow roll (about 5-10 mph) I step on the accelerator and the truck takes a solid 5-10 seconds to start responding. The L5p was a very small exhaust side configuration, small up pipes, small exhaust turbo vanes, etc. So I am guessing the ECM was seeing some very high EGT’s and cut power to keep from melting pistons.
