2024 Sp20 wads

I shoot 20 gauge at everything. The problem I ran into with the new AA hulls is they are to shallow for that wad and 1 ounce of shot. I had to go the Remington SP20 to get it all to fit. That is using 16.5 grs of Longshot for 1165 my 1 ounce Trap Load. For 1220 Hunting Loads I use Remington STS cases and 17.8 grs.I have 9 bags (8 full plus 1 about 3/4 full) of Rem SP20 wads (W29944) which are specifically made for 1oz loads though I believe there is data for 1 1/8oz loads as well. I bought these for hunting back east but now that I am living in AZ and into skeet, I will never use them. There is also a blue dot recipe with the csd20/tuwsbl2024..It has data for the BP SG20S wad & the WW AA hull using International, Solo 1250, & Universal. They also have a load listed for it with the Rem. STS hull & Unique, which runs about the same pressure as the WAA hull. In Tom Roster's lead and bismuth manual he substitutes a precision 7/8oz steel wad for the sp20 and notes it at the same pressure and velocity. I'm attempting to load 1oz bismuth #5 using the precision wad in place of the sp20.The biggest problem is finding a wad that'll work. The only real readily available one ounce wad is the Rem SP20, which is highly priced and overly fragile (wad explodes into fragments when firing). In the Federal hull I would try the fed 20S1 or clone to stop powder migration unless you shoot them right away.. Culvers kids meal nutrition

Rem hull, ched209, 17gr longshot, sp20, 7/8oz bismuth 4, 1250fps patterned better and is what I shot at the end of last year. There is longshot load in lymans for what you want, but again with sp20 wad.. federal hull, 209A, 20gr longshot, sp20, 1oz bismuth 1300fps 11,000 psi. There is also a blue dot recipe with the csd20/tuwsbl2024..I have an old Hercules data manual and the only 1 1/8 oz. 20 ga. loads it shows are 3". There is a 1 3/16 oz. 3" load as well. All use AACF hulls and Blue Dot powder and SP20 wads. It's interesting that the guide has a correction taped over the 3" 20 load data.
