I just got back from my 39 week apt and there has been absolutely NO change in my cervix or anything for that matter for the last 3 weeks!!! UGH! Plus, the dr. said her head is still "floating" and not even close to being engaged. At my 38 week appointment today I was 2cm, 80% effaced with a soft cervix and my OB said my baby had dropped. But he also didn't seem to think I would have it anytime soon so who knows ♀️.I was a fingertip dilated (so not even 1cm) at 36 weeks with my second and cervix was high and not effaced. When I was checked at 40 weeks (last baby) I was 3 cm dilated. I hadn’t been checked previously so I don’t know how long I had been that way. I ended up being induced at 41 weeks. So at least a week. If you've just lost your mucus plug, are 37 or more weeks into your pregnancy, and are not having contractions or other signs of labor, you may need to sit tight and wait a while longer. Although the baby is not arriving quite yet, losing the mucus plug lets you know that they'll be coming soon..
