My 2022 doesn't do that, but it's an option for the 2023 and 2024 models via the Jeep app.I haven't looked in the wheel well of a WL, but your description sounds similar to the wheel wells in the prior generation WK2s, which have a felt/carpet like lining. I think it helps reduce road noise from the tires.
