Generally, shorter length cutters have only been used by chainsaw carvers (finer detail), and by some racers (less mass). As a practical matter, most people (or saws) will not notice a difference. ...A Jonsered 2159 has a 20" max recommendation. I believe the older true 65cc Husqvarna 365 is 24" max. The newer 365XT and 2166 versions are 70cc and have a 28" max. Other Swedish saw to consider in red are 2258, 2260 and 2165. Orange Swedish saw would be 555 at 59.8cc, 562, and maybe a 460 which is a plastic cased home owners …Chainsaw . Oregon vs Stihl bars and chains. For that work, 238se, 242xp, 346xp/xpg, and, when the mood strikes, one of those Shinny 360/377 hybrids, are the preferred tools, all with 13" .325" setups. For what it's worth, standard 3/8 is listed as .375 pitch. The 3/8 LP is listed as .365 pitch, some 1/100th of an inch difference there.Who knows how significant this is, on a worn 3/8 LP sprocket probably OK to try standard 3/ 8.I drained the tank completely, washed it out 3 times, first with turps, then degreaser, then preparation solvent. I dried it with compressed air, then preheated it. Prep is critical to success if you are going to glue. I keyed the surface lightly with some 80 grit sandpaper then glued.A sharp chain is the most critical part of the saw. You can: 1) learn to sharpen your self (lots of different ways); 2) pay someone to sharpen your chains; or 3) replace them when dull. I believe that on this site, the order above would reflect the preference of most members. Some will go as far as custom modifying their chains.A sharp chain is the most critical part of the saw. The Jonsered 455 is a 44cc saw from the 1980s - and the "family" it belongs to (520 Family) are among the least popular Jonsereds.Dec 13, 2010. #5. One of the site sponsors, chainsawr, has some in various sizes. Go to the site at chainsawr.com. The actual freezer/end producer of the bars is Windy Ridge supply in Tamworth, NH. They will sell to the public and ship to wherever; however they don't seem to undersell their end dealers so you may be able to get a better price ...4. Location. Wisconsin. The RS is discontinued in 3/8" but the RSC (C is for Comfort) is an improvement in performance.Mar 3, 2007. #3. Pop the choke back after a few pulls... Most Stihls will flood if you leave the lever on full choke for more than 3 or 4 pulls. The trick is when it is cold to pull a few times until it almost fires or fires a few times, and then move the lever to the fast idle setting and then pull again.Reaction score. 5,336. Location. For some reason the Jonsered is only available here in that configuration, while the Husky of course can be had either way.Apr 29, 2005. #6. I have a Poulan 3400 I bought new in 1980. I certainly don't use it everyday. I think a working 3400 is worth $40. Lots of parts are easy to come by, but if you broke any of the body part, what's painted green I think you'd have a hard time finding that. At worst you might have to rebuild the carb, put new rings on the piston ....
